- 5 to 6 c. apples
- 1/2 to 2/3 c. white or brown sugar (depending on tartness of apples)
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Line 9-inch pie plate with pie crust. Peel and core and cut apples into very thin pieces.

3Cover pie with a pricked upper crust.

4Bake at 450° for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350° and bake for an additional 45 minutes or until done.
