- pastry for double crust pie
- 3/4 to 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 6 to 7 c. peeled and sliced apples
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Directions

1Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

2Add to apples and mix lightly.

3Heap into pastry lined 9-inch pie pan. Dot with butter.

4Adjust top of crust over filling.

5Flute edges and cut steam vents.

6Bake in hot oven (425°) for 50 to 60 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is browned.
