- 6 to 8 sliced apples (tart)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
Directions

1Fill crust with sliced apples; sprinkle sugar, pieces of butter, cinnamon and nutmeg.

2Roll upper crust, moisten edge of lower crust on pan.

3Cover with pie dough.

4Cut openings for steam to escape.

5Press edges together with fork or fingers.

6Brush top of pie with milk or egg white.

7Bake in 375° oven for 25 minutes with foil covering crust at edge only.

8Uncover.

9Bake about 20 minutes or more, until browned.
