- 6 to 8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. or more nutmeg
- 1/4 stick oleo (dotted on top)
- pastry for 9-inch 2-crust pie
- 1 Tbsp. or more cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. or more allspice
Directions

1Mix sugar and spices together.

2In bottom of crust, line apples in thick layer.

3Spread generously with sugar/spice mixture.

4Repeat.

5Fill crust very full, as apples cook down.

6Dot oleo on top and put top crust on.

7Cut vent holes in top and seal to bottom crust.

8Bake in 400° oven for 40 to 60 minutes.

9If edges begin to get too brown, cover with foil.
