- 9-inch deep shell crust
- 2 1/2 lb. apples, sliced thin
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. each: nutmeg and cinnamon
- 1/2 c. soft butter
Directions

1Toss apples, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and spices. Fill pie shell.

2Sprinkle lemon juice over this.

3Mix 1/2 cup sugar, flour and butter into soft paste.

4Spread over apples. Place in large brown grocery bag.

5Fold top sharply 3 times.

6Bake for 1 hour.

7Let cool 15 to 20 minutes before opening bag to avoid burns.

8Ignore burning smell while cooking.
