Apple Pockets (my version)
9 ingredients
28 steps
Ingredients
- 4 large Pie crusts
- 1 can sliced apples
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 box Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- 3 cup powder sugar
- 3 tbsp milk or cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
-
1Take the pie crust out of the aluminum pan and cut the crust into squares around 3 inches.
-
2When there is no more room to make equal amounts of squares, mash the leftovers together and roll the dough back out with a rolling pin.
-
3Continue the process of cutting 3 inch squares until there aren't anymore leftovers.
-
4Set the squares aside on a cooking sheet until further instructions.
-
5Take the apple slices and cut them into thirds.
-
6In a big bowl, put the sliced apples into the bowl following with the sugar, ground cinnamon, and flour.
-
7Stir until apples are coated with other ingredients.
-
8The sugar might dissolve and become syrupy due to the sliced apples but it is necessary.
-
9DO NOT TOUCH THAT CREAM CHEESE!!!!
-
10yet...
-
11Take one of the squares off of the cooking sheet and put less than a spoonful of cream cheese onto the square.
-
12Now, take less than a spoonful of apple slices onto the square also.
-
13Make sure that there is not a lot of liquid onto the squares because it will be complicated to do the next few steps if the square crusts are soggy.
-
14Your squares could be tricky to fold but they are supposed to be able to stay folded.
-
15Put all 4 corners to the center of the square.
-
16If the corners don't manage to stay, apply a toothpick into the corners while they are at the center.
-
17Keep the the process going until you have a good amount of apple pockets.
-
18Preheat the oven at 375.
-
19When ready put the apple pockets in the oven.
-
20They should be done when they are slightly close to being golden brown.
-
21If you want, you can keep the apple pockets in the oven until they turn golden brown.
-
22Finally making the icing... take another bowl, or clean the used bowl, and start off by putting in the powdered sugar.
-
23Next, add the milk along with the vanilla extract and stir with an electric mixer.
-
24Try putting the icing into a sandwich bag to squeeze onto the apple pockets in a few more steps
-
25Back to the apple pockets.
-
26They should be done by now if they look lightly brown and let them set to cool a little.
-
27Take the toothpicks out, if they are in, and drizzle icing over the apple pockets, finishing this long way, but not the longest, of making these tasty treats.
-
28Enjoy it hopefully!
