Apple Raisin Bread

- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 c. corn oil oleo
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 2/3 c. dark Karo or 2/3 c. light Karo
- 6 eggs
- 2 c. shredded apples
- 1 1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
Directions

1Grease two 8 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pans.

2In medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and ginger.

3In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat together oleo and sugar. Beat in syrup.

4Add eggs and beat until well mixed.

5With wooden spoon, stir in apples.

6Stir in flour mixture, raisins and nuts. Divide into 2 pans.

7Bake at 350° for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8Cool 10 minutes.

9Remove from pan.
