  • 2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • thinly sliced apples

Directions

    Boil water and 1 1/2 cups sugar slowly and pour in cake pan. Sift flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt.

    Mix in the shortening.

    Then add enough milk to make a soft dough.

    Roll out quite thin.

    Cover with apple slices.

    Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

    Roll up and cut 1 1/2-inch slices like cinnamon rolls. Place rolls in hot syrup and bake for 30 minutes in 350° oven. Serve hot with whipped cream.
