- 4 tablespoons butter or margerine
- 1/2 cup onions minced
- 1 pound bay scallops
- 2 medium apples, granny smith
- 8 ounces mushrooms, canned sliced, drained
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon parsley leaves minced
- 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs plain, dry
Directions

1Melt 1 tablespoon butter in large skillet.

2Add onion; saute until tender.

3Add scallops, apples, mushrooms, lemon juice, parsley, basil and salt; cook over medium heat, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan; blend in flour.

5Remove from heat; stir in milk.

6Return to medium heat; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

7Add sauce to scallop mixture in skillet; mix well.

8Spoon into 4 buttered ramekins.

9Combine remaining butter with bread crumbs; sprinkle over scallops.

10Place under broiler; broil 3 to 4 minutes, or until crumbs are golden.
