Apple Stuffed Pork Chops

  • 6 pork loin chops, cut 1-inch thick with pockets for stuffing (trim excess fat off)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 large tart apple, pared, quartered, cored and chopped (1 c.)
  • 1 small onion, chopped (1/4 c.)
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. fresh bread cubes (1 small slice)
  • water
  • 1 lemon, cut into 6 slices

Directions

    Sprinkle salt over both sides of pork chops.

    Saute apple and onion in butter in a medium saucepan until soft.

    Stir in bread crumbs and 1 tablespoon of water.

    Stuff into pockets of chops. Fasten with toothpicks.
