- 1/3 c. tapioca
- 1 c. light brown sugar
- 4 c. sliced tart apples
- 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.

2Let stand 5 minutes. Bring to a boil, stirring often.

3Reduce heat and simmer until apples are tender, about 12 minutes.

4Serve warm with a sprinkle of nutmeg and a scoop of ice cream.

5Also delicious served cold. Yield: 8 servings.
