Ingredients
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. raisins
- 4 medium size apples
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 large eggs
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Grease and flour 3 empty one pound coffee cans.

3In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and raisins.

4Core the apples and grate into flour mixture. In a saucepan melt margarine.

5Remove from heat.

6Stir in oil, vanilla and eggs.

7Stir butter mixture into dry ingredients. Spoon batter into prepared cans.

8Bake 1 1/4 hours or until a cake tester or skewer comes out clean.

9Cool in cans for 10 minutes. Remove from cans.

10Cool completely.

11Wrap and store overnight before slicing.
