  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg

    Peel and quarter the apples.

    Heat the apples and water to boiling, then reduce heat.

    Simmer, uncovered, until apples are tender (5 to 10 minutes).

    Stir in the other ingredients.
