  • 1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Sift a few teaspoons of flour over nuts and raisins.

    Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs.
  3. 3
    Add the applesauce which has been heated.
  4. 4
    Sift flour with soda and spices.
  5. 5
    Stir in butter mixture. Bake in tube pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
