  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add egg and beat until fluffy.

    Stir in vanilla.

    Mix flour and other dry ingredients; add flour mixture with applesauce.

    Fold in nuts.

    Bake in 9 x 9-inch pan about 35 minutes at 350°.
