- 1 3/4 c. oatmeal
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 -12 oz jar apricot jam
Directions

1In mixing bowl combine oatmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and almond extract.

2Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is about the texture of coarse cornmeal.

3Press slightly more than half the mixture into a greased 8 or 9 inch square baking pan.

4Cover mixture with jam and then with remaining mixture.

5Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

6Cool on rack.
