Ingredients
- 1/2 to 1 c. lentils, half cooked
- 1 c. or more brown rice, half cooked
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 c. beef or chicken broth
Directions

1Combine the lentils and rice and set aside.

2Brown the ground meat and onion. Drain off fat. Add raisins, cloves and cinnamon to meat.

3In a Dutch oven or heavy deep kettle, greased, alternate layers of the lentil-rice mix and the meat mixture. Gently pour hot broth over layered casserole.

4Cover and simmer for 1/2 hour or cook in a 300° to 325° oven.
