- 1 (16 oz.) can cut asparagus
- 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts
- 1 medium jar pimientos, sliced
- 1 c. celery, chopped fine
- 2 (6 oz.) pkg. plain gelatin, dissolved in 1/2 c. cold water
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1 tsp. onion scrapings
- juice of 1 lemon
Directions

1Boil sugar, salt, vinegar and 1 cup water.

2Add lemon juice. Scrape about 1 teaspoon onion into sugar mixture.

3Set aside to cool and to jell slightly.

4Drain asparagus; cut water chestnuts and pimientos.

5Place vegetables in mold and add liquid mixture. Chill several hours.
