- 2 lbs fresh asparagus, sliced diagonally into 1-inch pieces
- 1 lb very thin spaghetti
- 8 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 12 cup sliced green onion
- 12 teaspoon black pepper
- 14 cup butter, softened
- 12 cup half-and-half cream
- 12-34 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions

1Cook asparagus in boiling salted water 3 minutes.

2Drain and set aside.

3Cook spaghetti according to package directions.

4Drain and return to kettle to keep warm.

5Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook bacon until crisp.

6Remove to a paper towel.

7In bacon drippings, saute onion until soft.

8Add asparagus and pepper; heat through.

9Quickly toss together spaghetti, asparagus mixture, bacon, butter, cream and cheese; taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

10Serve immediately.
