- 3 cups soft breadcrumbs (can use 3 cups of soft bread cubes instead)
- 2 cups milk
- 14 cup butter
- 12 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 cup raisins (optional)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

2Place bread crumbs in 1-1/2 quart baking dish.

3Scald 1/4 cup butter in 2 cups milk.

4Blend in all remaining ingredients (the scalded milk/butter mixture, the sugar, the eggs, cinnamon and raisins) in the baking dish.

5Place baking dish in pan of hot water (with water 1 inch) deep) in the preheated oven.

6Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a butter knife inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.

7Serve warm with milk or cream if desired.
