Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 cups of sugar
  • 1/2 lb. of butter
  • 1/2 cup of Crisco
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup of self-rising flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tsp. of lemon flavoring
  • 1 tsp. of vanillia flaoring
  • If you choose to ice cake:
  • 16 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • confectioners sugar
  • lemon flavoring
  • or
  • lemon glaze
  • 1 box of confectioner's sugar
  • juice from 1 lemon

Directions

    Mix sugar, butter, and Crisco together until well blended.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    mix the flours together then add
  4. 4
    to suger mix alternating with the milk. When blended together,
  5. 5
    add both flavorings.

    Grease and flour a tube pan and

    put into a preheated 325 degree oven and bake for an hour.

    Cool. Serve plain, or with the
  9. 9
    glaze or cream cheese frosting.
