Bacon Cheese Biscuits

- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 lb. bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled
- 1 c. (4 oz. size) sharp cheese, shredded
Directions

1Mix baking soda and buttermilk; stir and set aside.

2Cook bacon, then drain and crumble.

3Shred the cheese if you did not get the shredded pack.

4Combine the flour and sugar.

5Cut in the shortening to resemble coarse meal.

6Add buttermilk mixture, then add the cheese and bacon.

7Knead with hands and roll out.

8(I use my hands, unless I want it fancy for a special time.)

9Bake at 425° for 10 to 12 minutes.
