- 2 lb. pinto beans
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 garlic buds, minced
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 4 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 3/4 tsp. red pepper
- 2 Tbsp. oregano
- 2 Tbsp. cumin
- 4 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. black pepper
- salt to taste
Directions

1Soak and cook pinto beans until almost done.

2Brown ground beef; drain fat.

3Add to beans.

4Saute onions, garlic and green pepper until tender.

5Add to beans and meat.
-
6Add tomato sauce, paste and spices and simmer for at least an hour.

7Stir frequently and add additional water and spices to desired taste and consistency.

8Serve plain or over rice.

9Grated Cheddar cheese and chopped green onion make good toppings.

10Serves approximately 15.
