- 2 egg whites
- 2/3 c. sugar
- pinch of cream of tartar
- pinch of salt (optional)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. chocolate chips or chocolate mints
- 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Directions

1Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add sugar and cream of tartar.

2Continue beating until stiff.

3Add salt, vanilla, chips and nuts.

4Mix together well.

5Preheat oven to 350°.

6Drop dough on ungreased foil topped cookie sheet by teaspoon.

7Place cookies in oven (2 cookie sheets on 2 levels) and immediately turn oven off. Leave cookies in closed oven overnight.

8Makes 4 dozen.
