- 1 white or yellow cake mix
- 1/2 gal. block ice cream
- 5 large egg whites
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. flavoring of your choice (optional)
Directions

1Make cake as directed on box.

2Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Remove from pan; let completely cool.

3Slice cake into 4 pieces. Slice ice cream lengthwise, about the thickness of the cake layers.

4On one layer, place ice cream.

5Place another layer of cake on top.

6This will make two cakes.

7Wrap one; freeze it for use later.

8Beat egg whites until very stiff.

9Add sugar and flavoring.

10Spread on one cake.

11Bake for 3 minutes, or until brown.

12Have oven preheated to 500°.
