  • 4 McIntosh apples (2 lb.)
  • 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. nutmeg

    Wash and dry apples.

    Do not peel.

    Cut each apple into eight wedges.

    Arrange wedges in a circle in 10-inch pie plate.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg, sugar and walnuts.

    Drizzle with butter.

    Bake, uncovered, in preheated 350° oven until tender and crisp and apples hold their shape, about 20 minutes.
