Baked Apples

  • 6 large baking apples
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 c. water (part cider may be used)
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Before baking, apples may be filled with raisins and nuts or mincemeat.

    Honey may be substituted for part of the sugar.

    Place apples, which have been peeled 2/3 way down, in long baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

    Add water.

    Place in preheated 425° oven and bake for 45 minutes.

    Baste several times during baking and upon removing from oven.
  7. 7
    Serve warm or cold.
