Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. dry navy beans (3 1/2 c.)
  • 1 lb. smoked ham or ham hocks or 1/2 lb. salt pork
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

    Soften beans; soak in water overnight.

    Simmer 1 hour.

    Put beans in crock-pot and add all remaining ingredients along with the water.

    Cook on low 10 to 12 hours or high 4 to 5 hours.
