Ingredients

  • 5 lb. navy beans
  • 1 1/2 gal. water (boiling)
  • 4 oz. salt
  • 6 oz. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. mustard (dry)
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 2 1/2 c. catsup (optional)
  • 1 lb. salt pork

Directions

    Wash beans. Add boiling water. Cover and let stand 1 hour or longer. Cook in same water until tender (about 1 hour). Add more water as necessary. Add all ingredients to the beans. Blend. Pour beans into deep baking pan. Bake.
