Ingredients
- 2 c. dried beans
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 lb. salt pork
- 6 c. water
Directions

1Place beans and water in saucepan.

2Cover and bring to boil. Cook for 2 minutes.

3Remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Return to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

4Drain beans, reserving liquid.

5Place in a 2-quart casserole or bean pot.

6Mix onion soup mix, molasses, brown sugar and bean liquid. Combine with beans.

7Make 1/2-inch cuts in salt pork.

8Place in center of beans.

9Bake, covered, at 300° for 4 hours, stirring often.

10If beans become dry, add boiling water.
