  • 1 lb. sausage or hamburger
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. Grandma's molasses
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • black pepper to taste

Directions

    Brown meat; break into bite size pieces.

    Remove from skillet and drain.

    Brown onion and bell pepper in meat drippings; drain onion and pepper.

    Stir together the beans, brown sugar, molasses, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and black pepper.

    Mix in meat, onion and bell pepper.

    Pour into lightly greased casserole dish.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
