Ingredients

  • 3 strips bacon
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • sprinkle of salt
  • 1 large and 1 medium can pork and beans
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 c. sorghum or Karo
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. catsup or barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 onion

Directions

    Fry the bacon strips, then brown onion in those drippings. Then brown ground beef until done.

    Drain off excess grease.

    Add sprinkle of salt.

    Set aside.

    Into large bowl or pan, put pork and beans.
  6. 6
    Add mustard, sorghum or Karo, brown sugar and catsup or barbecue sauce.

    (Catsup is the preference of the writer.) Stir and mix into the meat mixture.

    Place the bacon strips on top and bake one hour at 350°.
