Baked Beans(Cholesterol Free)

  • 1 lb. beans
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • some pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1/3 c. molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Wash the beans; soak overnight.

    Parboil for 15 minutes in the morning.

    Add the onion, salt, pepper, mustard and ketchup to bottom of bean pot.

    Add parboiled beans.

    Add over the beans the molasses and oil, mixed together.

    Add boiling water to which has been added the baking soda.

    Cover beans with hot water.

    Bake at 350° for about 1 1/4 hours, or until tender.
