- 1 lb. beans
- 1 sliced onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- some pepper
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1/4 c. ketchup
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Wash the beans; soak overnight.

2Parboil for 15 minutes in the morning.

3Add the onion, salt, pepper, mustard and ketchup to bottom of bean pot.

4Add parboiled beans.

5Add over the beans the molasses and oil, mixed together.

6Add boiling water to which has been added the baking soda.

7Cover beans with hot water.
-
8Bake at 350° for about 1 1/4 hours, or until tender.
