- 1 head cabbage (about 2 1/2 lb.)
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. hot milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Butter a 12 x 8-inch shallow baking dish.

3Discard outer leaves from cabbage.

4Wash head of cabbage. Cut into 1-inch wedges.

5Pour 1 cup water in large skillet and bring to boiling.

6Add 1 teaspoon salt and the cabbage.

7Cook over medium heat, covered, 10 minutes.

8Drain well.
