Baked Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 qt. popped corn

Directions

    In heavy saucepan, mix margarine, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt.

    Boil mixture, stirring constantly, over medium heat for 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.

    Pour over popped corn and coat evenly.

    Put mixture on 2 large jelly roll pans that have been coated well with margarine.

    Bake at 300° for 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes.

    Store in airtight container when cooled.
