Baked Cheddar Tomatoes

  • 3 tomatoes, cored and halved
  • 3/4 c. bread crumbs (fresh)
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sugar to taste
  • butter (clarified, as needed)

Directions

    Place tomatoes on greased baking sheet and sprinkle salt, pepper and sugar over each half.

    Combine bread crumbs and cheese; place equal amounts on each tomato half.

    Drizzle each tomato with butter and bake in oven at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes, until cheese melts.

    Remove from oven and serve.
