Ingredients
- 4 medium size eggs
- 1/3 c. sugar or 2 to 3 Tbsp. honey (depending on sweetness desired)
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. milk or 1 1/4 c. evaporated milk plus 1 1/4 c. water
- nutmeg (optional)
Directions

1Beat eggs slightly with a whisk.

2Add sugar or honey, salt and vanilla.

3Add cold milk and whisk until thoroughly mixed.

4Pour into individual custard cups.

5Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired. Place in

6pan 2 to 2 1/2 inches deep.

7Pour boiling water around the cups so that the water comes about to the level of the custard.

8Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 40 to 50 minutes or until a stainless steel knife comes out clean when inserted in the center.

9Remove from water and let cool. Chill and serve plain in cups.
