Ingredients
- 4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. yellow corn meal
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. molasses or golden table syrup
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Butter a deep 2-quart casserole.

3Heat milk and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until tiny bubbles appear around edge of pan. Gradually stir in corn meal; cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and slightly thickened.

4Remove from heat.

5Stir in eggs, cinnamon, ginger, salt and molasses (syrup).

6Stir together thoroughly.

7Pour into prepared casserole. Bake, uncovered, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

8Serve hot as is, or with vanilla ice cream.
