Baked Peppers

Ingredients

  • 12 whole bell peppers
  • 1 lb. ground meat
  • 1/2 c. leftover baked ham
  • 1 cut up onion
  • 1 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 loaf French bread or 3 or 4 slices white bread
  • 2 or 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Fry ground meat until brown.

    Drain off fat.

    Cook onion, celery and green peppers in water until tender, 15 or 20 minutes. Soak French bread or white bread in milk or water to soften.

    Beat eggs well and add all ingredients together.

    Salt and pepper.

    Cut peppers in half.

    Add filling.

    Add small amount water to large baking pan.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

    Until firm and brown.
