- 6 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar or more
- 1/3 c. baking powder
- 3 oz. butter, cold and cut up
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. raisins
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients well, add cut up butter until mixture is rough like corn meal.

2Add buttermilk and egg yolks and raisins all at once and mix until combined.

3Turn out on a floured board and divide into 4 balls.

4Roll each ball into about 1/4-inch circle (like pie shell).

5Cut each one into 6 wedges.

6Place on baking sheet and brush with egg-wash (1 egg slightly beaten with 1 tablespoon water).

7Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
