- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 (28 oz.) can broken tomatoes
- 3/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 (4 oz.) can drained mushrooms, stems and pieces
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. chili powder or oregano
- 1 (7 oz.) pkg. thin spaghetti
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese or processed American cheese
Directions

1Cook and stir ground beef and onion in skillet until beef is brown.

2Drain off grease.

3Stir in tomatoes with liquid, green pepper, water, mushrooms, salt, sugar, chili powder or oregano and spaghetti (broken into 2-inch pieces).

4Turn into 2 1/2-quart casserole.

5Cover and bake at 375°, stirring occasionally until spaghetti is tender, about 45 minutes.

6Sprinkle with 1 cup shredded Cheddar or processed American cheese.

7Return to oven, uncovered, and bake until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
