  • 1 lb. phyllo leaves
  • 1/2 lb. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. finely chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. honey

Directions

    Keep phyllo leaves under a damp cloth until needed.

    Using 1/2 of phyllo leaves, layer, spreading each with melted butter.

    Fold leaves as necessary to fit into a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Combine nuts, sugar and cinnamon.

    Sprinkle over the leaves and butter.

    Top with remaining leaves, brushing each with melted butter.

    Cut into diamond shape and bake at 350° until golden brown, about 40 minutes.

    Honey is poured over each while they are hot.
