  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 sticks butter or margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 6 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped

Directions

    Cream together sugar, butter or margarine and eggs; mix well. Sift flour and then measure out three cups; add soda and salt and sift again.

    Add flour mixture to butter mixture a little at a time letting your batter blend well between each addition.

    Add in bananas and nuts and mix well.

    Pour into well greased tube or Bundt pan and bake at 300° for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
