Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

    Combine first 4 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Stir in buttermilk.

    Combine dry ingredients.

    Add to creamed mixture, stirring only until ingredients are well moistened.

    Stir in nuts.

    Pour batter into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
