Ingredients
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2Add eggs and blend well.

3Mix flour, soda and salt; add to mixture.

4Stir in mashed bananas, walnuts and vanilla.

5Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

6Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until firm.

7Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely.

8Wrap and let stand for 24 hours.
