Banata Spinach Bread

  • 2 (10 oz.) frozen spinach
  • 1 lb. Italian sweet sausage
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 1 large loaf Italian bread
  • Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

    Take sausage out of casing.

    Fry sausage, garlic and onion until cooked.

    Boil spinach; drain.

    Add to sausage and saute 15 minutes.

    Add Mozzarella cheese and melt.

    Slice bread in 1/2 lengthwise; scoop out middle.

    Place sausage mixture in scooped out bread halves.

    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

    Put halves together.

    Wrap in foil and bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes. Slice in pieces and serve.
