- 1 (3 to 3 1/2 lb.) chicken
- 1 medium onion
- 2 Tbsp. fat
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1 c. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. chopped celery (may substitute celery salt)
- pinch of salt
- pinch of red pepper
Directions

1Cut chicken in serving pieces; brown in hot fat.

2Brown onions in fat.

3Add remaining ingredients.

4Simmer 30 minutes.

5Pour over chicken.

6Bake in 300° to 325° oven for 1 hour.

7Sauce may be used for other meats also.
