Ingredients

  • 6 lb. chuck roast or 4 lb. rump roast
  • 1/2 stock celery, chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 bottle ketchup (14 oz.)
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/3 c. water

    Combine ingredients.

    Pour over roast.

    Cover and bake 6 hours at 300°.

    Remove beef from pan.

    Shred with 2 forks.

    Return meat to sauce.

    Makes about 20 sandwiches.
