Barbecued Beef Brisket Recipe

  • 1 (4-5 lb.) brisket
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. seasoning salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. paprika
  • 2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 bay leaves, crumbled
  • Favorite brand of barbecue sauce
  • Adolph's tenderizing salt

    Sprinkle both sides of the brisket with the Adolph's tenderizing salt and let set for 1 hour.

    Combine seasoning salt, pepper, and paprika; rub into both sides of the brisket.

    Place brisket in a shallow baking container.

    Combine oil, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and bay leaves, pour marinade mix over brisket and chill for 2 days, turning occasionally.

    Remove from the marinade, coat both sides with your favorite brand of barbecue sauce and let sit in the refrigerator for 1 day.

    Wrap basted brisket in heavy duty cooking foil and bake in a 200 degree oven for 8 to 10 hrs or possibly till tender.
