- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. milk or buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450° to 500°.

2Sift 2 cups of flour with the baking powder and salt in a bowl.

3Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or fork or work in with your fingers.

4Add the milk to make a soft dough, mixing just until the dough holds together.
